The Best Homemade Waffles

Soft, fluffy, & simple waffles are going to be your new favorite breakfast! Perfect for a nice calm morning or even quick but calm is better to enjoy the deliciousness of these goodies!

These waffles are perfect for a lovely Sunday morning before Mass or afterwards for brunch! ☺️ May these waffles remind us of the beauty of Mary. Her simplicity and love are the most beautiful thing there ever is.

I have never been a BIG fan of waffles, but oh my these are better than Denny's or IHOP, trust me! So thick, fluffy, and soft and crispy, and... you have to try them! πŸ§‡

Why you'll love this recipe:

-Thick waffles and not soggy, soft waffles!

-Crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside, just like waffles should be!

-Super simple! No need to separate your egg whites!

What you'll need for this recipe:

Eggs- just two are perfect! And don't worry about separating your egg whites from your egg yolks! We'll be combining them together! They should be at room temperature preferably.

Milk-any will work! I like to use whole milk, but 2% or any will be fine.

Flour- all-purpose flour here! You can substitute whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose flour!

Add ins- this is the best part! You can add chocolate chips (any will be great!), lemon zest, blueberries (my personal favorite), or even orange zest!

Feel free to make pancakes instead of waffles! Chocolate chip pancakes? Blueberry pancakes? Lemon pancakes? You name it!

Toppings:

Waffles should be served with as many toppings! Here are some ideas:

  • salted butter and maple syrup (classic but delicious)
  • powdered sugar (there's not a ton of sugar in the batter, so this makes the perfect topping! In my opinion. 😊)
  • whipped cream and fruit (that's a great topping!)
  • sauce (go for blueberry sauce or strawberry! You can choose your favorite.)
  • waffle sundae! (Make your breakfast crazy by topping things off with ice cream, sprinkles, and a chocolate sauce! 🀀)
  • chocolate chip waffles (or do some changes and add β…”-3/4 cups of mini chocolate chips!)
  • deluxe (or mix them around! I like powdered sugar, salted butter, fruit, and maple syrup!)

I love a good old breakfast. Scrambled eggs, bacon, these homemade waffles with blueberries & maple syrup, and a cup of milk is all I need. (Or even coffee, if that's your thing. πŸ˜‰) You will never have better waffles than these.

Yes! Just make sure that your waffle maker will work with the fruit in it!

How do I store waffles?

When there is leftover waffles, put them in an airtight container or a plastic bag at room temperture for 5 days. Or, you could freeze these in a plastic bag and put them in the toaster whenever you need them!
