Nutella Banana Bread reminds me of Mary’s quiet faithfulness in the simple rhythms of daily life — taking what is ordinary, like overripe bananas and a swirl of chocolate, and offering it with love. In the warmth of the oven and the sweetness rising through the kitchen, we’re invited to remember that God meets us in small, humble moments. Even this simple loaf becomes a gentle reminder of Mary’s presence in our everyday tasks, showing us that grace can be found in the simplest acts of care and nourishment.
Nutella Banana Bread is one of those cozy, everyday recipes that feels like a small blessing in the middle of a busy week. It takes the humblest ingredients — bananas that have gone soft, a swirl of chocolate‑hazelnut — and turns them into something comforting and generous. There’s a quiet beauty in that simplicity, the same kind Mary lived in her own daily tasks. As this loaf bakes and fills the kitchen with warmth, it becomes a gentle reminder that God meets us in ordinary moments, and that even the simplest act of baking can be offered with love.
I don't know about you, but Banana Bread is simple, delicious, and really classic. But adding Nutella makes this so much better. And use over-ripe bananas for rich and sweet flavor.
Why you'll love this recipe:
-Bakery-style...banana bread with Nutella swirls is bakery-style. It's cozy and perfect for mornings!
-Perfect for using over-ripped bananas. If you're family buys too many bananas, and you don't know what to do with them...don't worry, I've got you covered! 😉Like Banana Muffins!
-Easy & Fast! With only 15 minutes of prep, easy...what else could you want?
-Simple ingredients. No fancy ingredients needed. You probably already have everything.
Ingredients:
Bananas- spotty, brown bananas are best for recipes. If yours are too green, save them for next time. Over-ripe bananas give extra flavor and shine much better!
Sugar- If you know me well, you know I love using a blend of light brown and granulated sugar. We get the best of two worlds!
Eggs- Room temperature like always, that way they'll combine better in your batter.
Sour Cream- I personally don't like eating sour cream. But, in desserts you won't taste any sour cream! I promise you! Sour cream works like buttermilk; they give a nice depth of flavor to many desserts! Don't skip it!
Nutella- You'll need a fourth cup of Nutella (or maybe say a heaping cup 😊). Room temperature will be very thick, so microwave it for like 10 seconds and then stir.
I like to add some course sugar on top of my banana bread. (You probably already expected that.) Monk fruit, Turbinado, organic cane sugar, or even normal granulated will work.
How to make:
Step 1: Make the batter.
Step 2: Add the Nutella filling.
Step 3: Swirl/sugar the top.
Step 4: Bake.
You can grease your bread pan with baking spray or butter and flour...but my personal preference is a parchment sling. That way, it guarantees you that it won't stick at all...and you can easily remove it from the bread pan.
